Writing The Short Film Review - Little White Lies Short Film Review
I was the person that was chosen to write the main content part of the review. This means that I had to follow the plan that we created as a group. I took the plan and then fleshed it out with more examples and extra information to help describe the short film to the audience.
After we decided what each paragraph would be about in the plan we then started to think about the starting sentence of each paragraph. This is because if you look carefully at any Little White Lies review the first sentence of the paragraph is a summary of the information that is contained within the paragraph. Therefore, it made it a lot easier if we came up with the starting sentence before writing the rest of the paragraph. Also, we came with the summary review sentence which appears at the end of the writing part of the review.
Then I came up with the content that went within each paragraph by coming up with examples from the film that matched the point that I was making within the paragraph. Then I came up with extra information like descriptive words for the film and advanced English techniques like similes and metaphors.
Next, as a group we looked through the draft that I had created and adjusted it to make it seem more like a professional Little White Lies writer.
Finally, I imported the text into the review framework that we choose to use for the review. Also, to save space on the page and to fit in with the way that Little White Lies do there reviews we used indentation to signify a new paragraph instead of using a whole line to show a new paragraph.
In addition, as a group we came up with the review ratings. For Anticipation we decided to go with a 4 and we said "Interesting and intriguing character development keeps the audience involved in the film as it builds up towards the ending". On top of this, for Enjoyment we gave it a 3 and said "This social realistic short film plays on the strings of the audience’s hearts". Also, for In Retrospect we gave it a 3 and said "A strong build-up with a less than appetising ending ".
